While Season 2: Summer of Monsters is underway, Surge is a Chromatic Brawler that can be unlocked through Brawl Boxes and Brawl Pass rewards at Tier 30. The damage he offers is moderate, but his attack rate is quite fast, so he can do quite a bit of damage in a short period of time. An enemy is struck by a shot of splitting juice as his main attack. The Super he uses is an aerial jump that lands him in his original position. It deals damage to enemies and knocks them back. Surge’s gadget, Power Surge, teleports him through obstacles to the side in which he faces. To the max with his Star Power! Hits a wall, splitting his projectiles. Serving Ice Cold, Surge’s second Star Power, respawns Surge with his Stage 1 upgrade instead of reverting back to his starting state.
An attack on justice
Shots from Surge split in half at right angles when they strike an enemy. Half of each split shot is damage, half is supercharge. When Surge gains his Stage 2 Super, the range of his attacks increases. He instead fires six projectiles in Stage 4, with three projected in wide arcs on either side of him. There are four additional tiles on the trail of these split shots. It does not reload as quickly as other attacks, but it has a short cooldown.
Party Tricks: Super
On landing, Surge deals damage to an area within a radius after flying up into the air and knocking back enemies in the process. It is impossible for Surge to be damaged by status effects or damage brought on over time while in the air. Every time he uses his Super, Surge also becomes upgraded. A winner in Brawl Ball or an end to a Knockout round resets Surge’s upgrades. The health bar will also include a rank icon that represents the current stage of his upgrade. The enemies and teammates of Surge can see the icon.
A gadget called Power Surge
The teleporter teleports Surge up to three tiles in the direction he is facing. If Surge needs to bypass an obstacle in more than three tiles, then he will not be able to teleport through it. When Surge teleports, he does not lose status effects, but he remains vulnerable to damage.
Whenever Surge hits an obstacle, such as walls and map borders, his main attack will also split into two (or six if he is at Stage 4).
Rather than reverting back to his initial Stage if he is defeated after using one Super, Surge will respawn with his Stage 1 upgrade (increased movement speed).
If TipsSurge is not updated, it will not operate properly. As soon as possible, charge up your super and use it to make up for his lack of range for his Serve Ice Cold Star Power. Due to Surge’s slow speed and short range, you should not be reticent to use his Super as a defensive tool. In general, either you save his Super for the close range enemies, or you use it immediately against long-ranged Brawlers who can outrange you, when he gets his first upgrade. Try to get his second upgrade in Showdown too, as it’ll help him in more open maps to compete with sharpshooters. Surge and Bo would make a good Duo Showdown combination because Bo can drop his Super Totem to charge Surge’s Super at least once, giving Surge some much needed upgrades.
In the event of a projectile approaching him, Surge can evade it for a moment. Use his Super at just the right moment to avoid a potentially devastating attack; for example, Surge can evade Frank’s destructive Super by just activating his Super right after Frank swings his hammer. Alternatively, his Super can be used when fighting close range against an enemy, as landing his Super on an enemy within a small radius does damage and also knocks them back. If a close-ranged heavyweight is chasing Surge, the Super can be used to physically distance Surge from his enemy and to deter the enemy Brawler by dishing out some extra damage.
When Surge reaches Stage 4, no use should be made of Surge’s Super immediately. This won’t further advance him, so keeping it charged until he needs it is a better idea. The Brawler can later use it when it gets close to him to dodge attacks.
Don’t give up on saving your Super just because you’re not in Stage 4. If you are up against assassins or other Brawlers, Surge’s Super appears to be a vital tool for him in Showdown.
In Surge’s initial stage, throwers will have an easy time catching him. Staying out of range or simply avoiding throwers increases Surge’s chance of survival until he reaches Stage 1. After upgrading himself for the first time, Surge can counter their attacks with his very fast movement speed which quickly turns him into a threat.
When Surge is able to rejoin the action following the respawn of a 3v3 event, saving a super until after respawn allows a significant speed boost. It is also crucial in Brawl Ball to have speed in order to score; Surge’s Serve Ice Cold Star Power will help him move fast, dodge attacks, and close to enemies.
By teleporting behind a wall or through an attack, he can dodge or escape by using the Power Surge Gadget. Offensive maneuvers are also possible with it. His Gadget allows him to teleport through obstacles and finish off Brawlers with low health or throwers like Dynamike. Surge provides an advantage over his enemies due to the speed of his teleportation. Surge’s Gadget can be used to burst down enemy Brawlers reliably with his Gadget when teleported on top of them. To defeat a Brawler, Surge must get within range of the Gadget. Surge’s next Super can be charged by all three main shots. By first teleporting to an enemy, followed by a quick Activation of his Super, he can also use his Gadget in combination with his Super. Surge’s next Super will be moderately charged with additional damage, knocking the opponent back, and wasting enemy ammunition.
The surge is at its peak! Showdown is a particularly good use of Star Power. The long lanes and cramped walls of some of the Showdown maps will allow Surge to split his shots effectively. Maxed out! Combined with his high burst damage and augmentation, he is extremely powerful. His shots are divided into six instead of two, making him an immediate threat.
Serving Ice Cold Star Power during Solo Showdown is completely useless, while utilizing it during Duo Showdown may be questionable, since it’s only active once Surge has been defeated. To the Max! gives better value overall because the split shots from hitting a wall can help aid Surge gain his Super quickly without having to use his Gadgets to gain his pivotal upgrades.
As Surge, it’s crucial to think about how a Brawler might counter your attack. With three ammo, Surge is most effective, but his own health is quite low. In battle, Surge is extremely fearsome due to his ability to play surreptitiously and make calculated decisions. Surge reloads painfully slowly and has low health, so getting too close to enemies and wasting attacks is not recommended.
